Remembering Del. Jim Hubbard
We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Delegate James Hubbard
We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Delegate James Hubbard. Delegate Hubbard was a steadfast champion for children’s health. Jim Hubbard sponsored many important bills to protect children from the dangers of toxic chemicals. His leadership in Maryland and across the country, will be missed.
In a 2014 media release releasing a report about toxic chemicals, Jim Hubbard, was quoted saying “As a grandfather and a long time representative of Prince George’s County’s District 23A, I am very proud of the children’s health protections I and my colleagues have passed over the years. I am pleased to see the release of this report, which is a thorough discussion of the progress made and the challenges ahead when it comes to children’s environmental health.”
Jim Hubbard’s leadership on children’s environmental health extended beyond Maryland. His role helping lead the National Conference of Environmental Legislators brought about coordinated state-level change to improve the environmental health of children across the country. He will be missed.
