Food Safety

From toxic pesticides sprayed on food crops, to a food recall system that gives too little protection to consumers, isn’t it time for a safer food system?

We should be confident that the food we buy is safe to eat, and is grown in ways that won’t put our health at risk. Unfortunately, many modern agricultural practices, from the hundreds of millions of pounds of pesticides sprayed on our crops to an increasing number of potentially fatal food recalls, make it clear that our food is not as safe as it should be.

To build a safer, healthier future, we need to work together to eliminate the most dangerous toxic pesticides like Roundup, dicamba and chlorpyrifos, which have been linked to serious threats including cancer and developmental disorders.

We also need to change the farming practices that lead to recalls and food-borne illnesses, and fix our broken food recall system so that if dangerous food is discovered, stores stop selling it and people are alerted early.

Help us call on the FDA, USDA and other decision-makers to make our food as safe as it should be.
