Toxic Pollution in Baltimore Linked with Health Hazards

Exposure to dangerous toxic pollution from industrial facilities threatens communities in Baltimore and across the country, according to a new report released today by Maryland PIRG.

In 2007, Maryland PIRG Foundation and Maryland PIRG Citizen Lobby helped lead the campaign to make all Baltimore workplaces, including restaurants and bars, smoke-free.

Smoke-Free Builds Momentum

Maryland PIRG announced today that it has joined Smoke Free Maryland, the state’s largest coalition working to improve public health by banning smoking in all workplaces including restaurants and bars. Maryland PIRG is the state’s leading public interest advocacy group, with over 12,000 members throughout Maryland.
